What do I do as a clinical psychologist?

Professional training has prepared me with clinical skills to help people learn to cope more effectively with life issues, which include various forms of distress. I have experience working with diverse populations. I focus on therapy for adults and assessment for children. In addition, I also provide child therapy, psychoeducation, parenting consultation, as well as collaborating with other psychologists to lead workshops for the public. Unlike psychiatrists, I do not prescribe medicines. If you wish to seek an evaluation to a psychiatrist, I can arrange a referral.

Individual Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between the psychologist and the client. It serves as a safe setting for clients to share and express one’s problems, thoughts, and feelings, which usually promote better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress.

Child Assessment

For children and adolescents, early detection and treatment of the problems or difficulties often result in a better prognosis and functional outcome. In addition, it is also to understand the child’s current cognitive and emotional functioning, which leads to further proper remedial program(s) or intervention(s) planning.
